This is over 1 billion people in the world. They are the world’s most significant minority (WHO, 2023).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

72% of individuals with IDD live with their families and in 24% of these<\/strong> <\/a>households, caregivers are over the age of 60.<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“While people with disabilities are living longer and family caregivers are aging, siblings often take on a more crucial role as parents become less able to support their adult child” (Forbes, 2025)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
