They interpret and apply the law, protect our legal rights, and handle both civil and criminal matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Courts of Appeals<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Serving as the second-highest court, the Court of Appeals reviews decisions made by trial courts and some state agencies to determine whether the law was applied correctly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Tax Courts<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The Tax courts have jurisdiction over cases involving Indiana tax laws.
