Together with our communities and partners, we work to advance dignity, inclusion, and lasting systemic change so every individual has the opportunity to thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Mission Statement<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>A nonprofit focused on meeting the social, emotional, and material needs of persons with disabilities, their families, and the most vulnerable members of society by addressing unmet social needs, reducing exclusion and inequality, and promoting dignity, inclusion, and well-being across communities.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Vision<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>A future where no individual or family faces disability or hardship alone because every community is&nbsp;<\/em>socially<em>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<\/em>culturally<em>&nbsp;connected by accessible resources, meaningful support, and effective advocacy. A future where no individual is left behind because of a disability or any other form of vulnerability.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Role Overview<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Director of Governance &amp; Compliance helps ensure the Foundation operates with strong governance, ethical practices, and regulatory compliance. This individual works with the Board of Directors to support organizational policies, monitor compliance requirements, and strengthen accountability and risk management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Located anywhere.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Minimum one-year commitment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Bachelor&#8217;s degree or equivalent professional experience in law, nonprofit management, business administration, public administration, compliance, or a related field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Experience with nonprofit governance, legal compliance, risk management, or organizational policy preferred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, or similar software.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Experience with Notion or willingness to learn.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable nonprofit laws, regulations, and governance requirements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Review and recommend updates to organizational policies, bylaws, and governance documents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Support board governance practices and organizational accountability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Monitor compliance deadlines, filings, and required documentation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Identify governance and compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Collaborate with board members to promote ethical and transparent organizational practices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Ensure organizational records and governance documents remain current and organized.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Founding Board of Directors Recruitment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Sibling Foundation is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as founding members of our Board of Directors. Founding Board Members will play a critical role in building trust and credibility, establishing the foundation, governance and advisory structure, and long-term direction of the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are looking for individuals who are passionate about improving the lives of persons with disabilities, their families, and vulnerable communities and who are willing to share their expertise, leadership, and professional experience to advance our mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Founding Board Members will serve an initial commitment of at least one year in an uncompensated governance role. During this foundational period, members will help establish organizational policies, support strategic planning, strengthen community partnerships, and guide the growth and sustainability of The Sibling Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ideal candidates will bring experience, knowledge, and connections in areas such as nonprofit leadership, healthcare, disability services, finance, law, fundraising, education, community advocacy, communications, or related fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additional Information<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-4ee9a46c-d38e-4f96-93e6-4415a073a1a8\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><em>This is an\u00a0<strong>uncompensated volunteer governance position<\/strong>.
